We’ve got a great new breakfast menu at The Landing for 2013.  We are serving breakfast from 8am-11am every Saturday and Sunday.

First item up, the Big Tex Sandwich.  Two eggs, prepared your way, with cheddar cheese and bacon.  Served on Texas Toast and a side of tater tots (who doesn’t love tater tots)!

Likely to be the most popular item on the menu, we have the Chicken & Waffles.  Two pieces of deep fried, sweet batter, boneless chicken, served on top of a fresh made Belgian waffle.  Whipped butter, maple syrup and mango salsa on the side.

Then we have the Breakfast Burrito.  A long time staple of California and Texas, now everyone’s doing it.  Ten inch tortilla, stuffed with scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese and bacon.  Served with mango salso on the side and tater tots.  It’s even better than it sounds…

Last, but certainly not least, Belgian Waffles and Strawberries.  The name perfectly describes it (and the picture even more so)…

We are excited to introduce our new Menu at The Landing for 2013 in Clear Lake, IA.  In addition to some of the crowd favorites from 2012, like fish tacos and the prime rib kabobs, we’ve added a few more seafood items to our menu.  Since our prime rib kabobs were so popular last year, we’ve decided to add a lighter option to these, the shrimp kabobs.  Four jumbo shrimp, served with your choice of glaze, skewered with bell peppers and baby bella mushrooms.

Already a new crowd favorite is our new Lakeside Fish N Chips.  Three pieces of thick, flaky whitefish, beer battered and fried.  Served with fries and our house made lemon and caper remoulade sauce.  Enjoy them with an ice cold Corona.  Trust us, you’re going to love it!

 Up next is the Salt & Pepper Calamari for $7.95.  Tender strips of calamari, lightly breaded and tossed in salt and pepper.  Served with a sweet chili sauce on the side.  Great for sharing with the table.

Last, but certainly not least is our new signature, table side bruschetta for $4.95.   A perfect sized appetizer to share with the table.  French break served with tomatoes, garlic, basil, extra virgin olive oil and a dash of balsamic vinegar.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support us this year at The Landing!  We made some amazing new friends, introduced new bands to the Clear Lake area, spilled a few drinks, dropped a few plates, had a few parking issues.…but overall, we considered it a major success.  None of which could have been done without the great local support of our fellow Clear Lake, Mason City and North Iowa neighbors.

We’d also like to call out a special round of THANKS to our neighbors to the east, Clear Lake Boats.  You helped to introduce a lot of new customers to The Landing and that certainly didn’t go unnoticed.  Much success to you in 2013!

An exciting week at The Landing;  the grand opening of the South Shore Inn’s new patio bar and grille on Clear Lake.  The excitement for this new establishment was apparent this weekend, as vacationers and native Clear Lakers alike descended upon The Landing.  After a successful ‘soft opening’ on Wednesday and Thursday, we opened the doors to the general public on Friday evening.  The Landing onion rings were such a huge success, that we ran out by 8pm (that won’t happen again).  If you are native to Clear Lake, you might remember these from The Ritz back many years ago.  We thought it was only appropriate to re-introduce them to Clear Lake.

We also received a wonderful gift from the Manning’s and the Goldizen’s – the official ‘Landing’ rock, commemorating the Grand Opening.

Putting everyone to work here at the Landing.  Next time you are in Clear Lake, make sure you stop by to check it out!

We are pleased to announce the opening of ‘The Landing’ patio bar and grille. This coming weekend, we will open the doors with a portion of our food menu and a fully stocked bar. By Monday, June 11th, we will be fully open, serving dinner Monday through Thursday and breakfast, lunch and dinner Friday through Sunday.

The Landing offers a large lake front bar and grille, with perfect views of Clear Lake, Iowa. We have a large dock where you can conveniently tie up your boat during the day or evening to stop by for food or drinks. The Landing is located at 1603 South Shore Dr, attached to the lakeside of the South Shore Inn. Stop by for great food, unique drinks and an unbeatable atmosphere!

It was a very busy Winter in Clear Lake; we renovated every room at the South Shore Inn – Clear Lake and now we couldn’t be more excited for Spring to show off all of the work.  We were very fortunate to have a lot of new guests from all over the Midwest; enjoying some great activities like Christmas by the Lake, “The Jack” and Winter Dance Party at the legendary Surf Ballroom (which had a great article in the USA Today – check it out here).

We also heard about some great ice fishing this winter – walleye, striped bass and even muskie – check out this monster pulled through the ice by fishing guide Kevan Paul - right here on Clear Lake.  Summer is coming quickly and we’ve got some big news in store…if you’ve been by the hotel, you’ve probably already seen some of the action.
